I travelled from India and stayed for six days in July 2024 in the hotel. I walked from Kings Cross train station. It took me around 5 minutes to find McElhone Street. Going toward the hotel, the McElhone street is slopey downhill road, so carrying a luggage was easy. Though, while returning to Kings Cross station from the hotel was not easy, as I had to drag my luggage uphill to reach the station. Its around 10 minutes walk from Kings Cross station. Most of the tourist sites I covered just by walking, like Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour bridge, Macquarie's Chair, Queen Victorial Building, Sydney tower, Hyde Park, Royal Botanical Park, St. Mary's Cathedral, . If you can walk you can cover most of the sites just by walking from the Hotel. I am a museum goer and to my joy, most of museums like Australian Museum, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney Museum, etc. I reached just by walking. The stay was quite comfortable. The breakfast was decent.

Location, location, location. This is a wonderful hotel and such good value for money. If you are happy with a comfortable room and great cooked, fresh breakfast and warm and friendly staff who offer valuable information about places to go and see and the best way to get there then this is the place for you. It’s not your up market hotel but the rooms are clean and comfortable, fridge, microwave, tea, coffee and biscuits and a separate lounge/ games room for guests to use plus a laundry is available for coin. It has the old school hospitality like your booking into a country motel. We have stayed before and we will definitely be back, perfect location for walking to see Handa Opera and we walked to Australia Museum the following day. Parking is also very reasonable at $25.

The location is very central. It's walking distance from Kings Cross Station (stairs involved) and not far from the Botanic Garden and Circular Quay. The hotel is dated. It seemed a lot closer to a 2 star hotel than a 3 star. The staff was very helpful in letting us leave our luggage before the room was ready. They also said we could make use of the lounge (couches and recliners) until the room was ready. The best part of the stay was the included breakfast. I tend not to eat breakfast, but I was impressed by the selection offered and found several things to eat. Others staying there really seemed to make the most of the breakfast.

It is a great hotel in a convenient and quiet location. We loved the facilities, rooftop area, guest lounge, included breakfast and an extra toilet on each floor. The outside sitting area was very welcome, and the window and door were secure enough to leave open at night for fresh air. The rooms are comfortable and not too swish (as you would expect from a 3* hotel). The only thing I would say is that my matress was very unsupportive and was most likely many years old. All in all, we were very happy with Mariners Court and would stay again.

Mandy

We were afraid of the place at first based on the locked iron gate at the entrance but the interior reminded us of a funky European hotel. We had a little courtyard off of our room with a table and chairs which was pleasant and the included breakfast was very good. It was a long walk from Circular Quay , the Opera House and the Botanic Garden but doable. Also within walking distance to a grocery store but up the Butler's Stairs. Challenging but tourists do this walk for fun. Ubers worked well as did the taxi.
